Reporting Guidelines

On your chosen OS topic, please discuss the following:
1) Background/History/Motivation/Organizations using it
2) Strengths/Weaknesses/Tradeoffs/Uniqueness
3) At least 3 of the following:
   Interprocess Communications, Memory Management,
Resource Management, Process Control and Scheduling,
File System, Security, Others that you find relevant

(choose the 3 that would support the strengths and
    uniqueness of your chosen OS)

There will be two parts to our reporting: oral and
written. Our oral reporting is scheduled on
Sept 1 and 8. There will be 3 groups reporting per
given day. Each group will be given 45 minutes.
For those who will use Powerpoint, I will try to
get us a room with a computer and a data display.
I cannot promise you, though. I'll update you on
Saturday regarding this.

Your written report is due one week after you give
your oral report. You will also need to submit a
soft copy of your written report so I can post it
on our website for download by your other classmates.

On your written report, please supply a table of
contents and a list of references whether online
or offline. Also, try to supply addresses of news
groups and web sites related to your chosen OS.

Grading for the report would be as follows:

Criteria Sub-Score Score

  (satisfies all three points
   mentioned above)
